Nonprofits
Early education intervention. Homelessness. Racial justice. Equity and safety in higher education. Healthcare access. Brain research. Entrepreneurship. Visual arts and music.
We’re fortunate to have done meaningful work in these areas… and to work with the passionate people leading the efforts.
MARKETING STRATEGY & EXECUTION
When it comes to marketing strategies and tactics, audience insights are at the core of our recommendations. (Because why shout a message where your audience isn't listening?) We even design and construct data-rich surveys when needed. With audience-driven strategies as the foundation, we move on to compelling content and attractive design for websites, presentations, email campaigns, infographics, print and digital brochures, videos, organic and paid social campaigns, posters, billboards, and more!
We also design, build, and manage ridiculously effective Google Ads campaigns and have experience working with Google Ad Grants. No matter your audience, goals, or budget, Girl on the Roof can develop effective strategies and beautiful tools that get results!
Our Approach
Nonprofits are the lifeblood of communities. They fight wars against poverty, injustice, homelessness, food insecurity, and misinformation on shoestring budgets. They champion education, equity, and the arts. Too often their leaders are stretched thin and weary. We have seen this first-hand, working professionally with more than 150 nonprofit organizations.
Sometimes the nonprofits making the biggest impact don’t have time to toot their own horns (or don’t feel comfortable doing so). Girl on the Roof leverages the power of storytelling to inspire volunteers and donors with websites, impact reports, videos, social media campaigns, presentations, capital campaigns, grant applications, and more.
We don’t just toss advice down into the trenches; we jump into the trenches with our clients. We serve as volunteers, donors, patrons, and board members. We even developed the LOUDMOUTH program to help broker partnerships between for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Because meaningful change requires all of us.
"Girl on the Roof is the real deal. They are talented, passionate, and deeply committed. This is the team you want working on this campaign!"
– Jonathan Scoonover,
Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking
PRINT & DIGITAL MATERIALS
Every marketing tool Girl on the Roof produces — logos, brochures, posters, impact reports, event programs, websites, cases for support, print and digital ads, post cards, and more — is compulsively outcomes-focused. From content development through execution, we serve nonprofit organizations strategically, maximizing their resources. We leverage quantitative and qualitative data for effective storytelling, supported by engaging infographics that reinforce key metrics. We even aid in professional development for staff members, with an eye toward organizational effectiveness and sustainability.
"Carol and her team are wonderful partners for a small nonprofit marketing and development team. Girl on the Roof delivers high quality materials that effectively communicate the stories that we need to tell. Carol and Skyler are responsive, professional, and creative!"
– Shannon Heck,
Director of Development & Marketing for Imprints Cares
Our Work
LOGO & POSITIONING
We start with the Why, How, and What, then boil them down to a positioning statement worth shouting from rooftops. Sometimes the positioning includes a graphic model to help donors and partners understand the full scope of services provided by the nonprofit organization.
From the positioning comes a tagline that engages, inspires, and motivates. Then we develop the visual identity, including a full logo and icon package (including program logos if needed) and a style guide to ensure consistent usage. Because consistency and memorability are paramount when building donor and partner relationships.
"We could not be happier with the work of Girl on the Roof. Their work was creative, efficient, cost effective, and included a collaborative team approach."
